Scratch my last post, as Ava Ryan has made me eat my words! That's right, she finally went poo in the potty (applause!!!) Tonight while I was making dinner, she kept coming to the kitchen and telling me, "I no like panties. I want diaper." When I told her no that if she needed to go poo poo she needed to go and sit on the potty she exclaimed, "How 'bout a pull-up." (what a little negotiator!) Anyway, I have been putting a lot of thought into why she refuses to do #2 in the potty and during one of my brainstorming sessions today I think I discovered the cause- she wants more privacy! I notice that when she goes in her diaper, she typically hides, so I decided to give the girl her space. Now, that is a pretty difficult thing to do in an apartment, so I improvised. I quickly moved her potty to the corner, propped up a Priority Mail box, and provided her with a book.
A few minutes later, a stench, mixed with the smell of the fried potatoes, filled the air. I heard a little voice from around the corner yelling, "Yay! I get icecream!" She had finally done the deed! I was so proud! We danced around while Daddy discarded Ava's little present and we immediately went out for icecream and a balloon!
I'm a big girl!
Don't worry, we aren't depriving Tal of the delicious dairy treat... the kid ACTUALLY doesn't like icecream!!
