Ava Ryan is practically potty trained (all except for nighttime), so I don't worry too much anymore about constantly asking her if she needs to go pee pee. She will typically come and let me know and I will lift her over the baby gate and help her seal the deal. However, on this day she decided that using the potty would be a complete waste of her time and take her away from the really important things like watching Barney...so she peed in a drawer. That's right, she marked her territory all over Tal's new birthday clothes. Now, I know that I should have been a little suspicious about her recent "drawer sitting", but I just thought that she liked to be cozy, I didn't expect her to be plotting potty training revenge! With each day that passes, I am reminded CONTINUOUSLY that she is in the terrible two's stage. Her new favorite words are "no", "not right now", "I so pretty", "I so smart", "Aba's (Ava's) turn", and "you better get me what I want when I want it!" Okay, so that last one was embellished a bit. I feel as though I am watching her morph straight from toddler to teenager. I admit it- she scares me! I am proud that she has a mind of her own, complete with opinions and all, but copping a squat in the chest of drawers is not a section in my "What to expect during the Toddler Years" information guide!! I am assuming that there must be some sort of online support group for mothers of toddlers who pee in drawers, right?? So, for now, she will sit in time out and I will wash a lot of clothes...and cry!
