Early this morning around 1:30 I began experiencing back pain that was coming and going at regular intervals, every 2-3 minutes. While the pain wasn't what I would consider "real labor pains" (aka: "I would rather cut off my own leg with a butter knife and beat someone with it" kind of pain), but it was coming and going strong enough to be a little worrisome. I knew that being 80% effaced was nothing to mess with, so we headed to the hospital at 3:00am to get checked. After a few detours, because we were unable to find Labor & Delivery, we finally settled into a room and I was instantly catheterized, hooked to monitors, and stuck for a blood draw. My parents showed up around the same time, my mom panicked because just as they pulled up to the hospital a helicopter landed...she was thinking the worst. After monitoring my irritable uterus and checking my blood/urine for an infection, I was released because my cervix hadn't made any further changes with the contractions. We arrived home at 5am and passed out from being up all night long. The good news (other than I didn't have a baby last night) is that we are now 32 weeks! So we are now home and I am happily horizontal once again.
