After a few difficult pregnancies, I tend to really look forward to the 24 week mark of my pregnancy. At least at this point, unlike with Adelide and Belle, doctors would do all they could to save our baby if she was born prematurely. Now, I am not unrealistic in the fact that I understand that babies born at 24 weeks only have a 25% survival rate, but it still is a huge milestone for me. After seeing my high-risk OBGYN ( who placed my cerclage) this past Thursday, he reassured me by ultrasound that my cervix was holding strong. He also told me that a baby has a 25% survival rate at the beginning of this week and a 50% at the end of this week. WOW! What a week for development. Due to the loss of our twin daughters, unfortunately, I have a very difficult time feeling confident until I hold my baby in my arms. This day, however, is one of the most critical days to me and helps me to feel as though I just might be able to carry this baby to full term...or somewhere very close! Next stop...26 weeks...then 28!

I understand the anxiety of it all and the peace you only feel when you have a living breathing baby in your arms at last.I'm so happy you have reached this milestone and know you will continue to do so! Oh, and I'm so excited you get another girl! I can't wait to find out what her name will be and see beautiful pictures in three months.
