Driving 10 hours for Turkey

Yep, we drove TEN HOURS to have turkey this year with my Mommy-Anne and Daddy Buck in Western KY! Crazy, you say? Yep, but even crazier is packing for one night for three kids to stay in one bedroom. That would equal one very squirmy three year old, two porta-cribs, more diapers and wipes than I care to mention, and very little sleep. So, we got up early Thursday morning, loaded the kids in the car, along with about 10 movies, and headed West for some good 'ol country cookin'!

Tal was happy because he got to open up a belated birthday present from Aunt Kim and Uncle Gary!Berkeley and Mommy-Anne

Tal thought it was fun to feed Babe cookies- they became quick friends!

After staying a little later than planned, we loaded up and headed back East. Tal is ready to get comfy and watch a movie!
Berkeley, wide awake!
We left around 9:30 with hopes that the kids would sleep most of the way home and that we could just transfer them straight to their beds when we rolled in around 2 am! However, it never seemed like we could get any of them to sleep at the same time. Ava and Tal were asleep before we even got out of the driveway, but Miss Berkeley decided that she was going to fuss (which is rare...and suprising) for about 30 minutes until Matt and I figured out how to get her to stop. We began driving on those annoying "cuts" on the side of the road...you know, the ones that are supposed to wake you up if you start going off of the road. Well, oddly enough, the things that are supposed to wake you did the exact opposite for Berkeley! Matt and I decided that we would take the annoying sound of the road anyday over a high pitched scream! Finally, 5 hours and a lot of caffeine later, we rolled in like zombies! Word to the wise, don't try and travel 10 hours in one day with three kids on a full "turkey" stomach!
