Matt and his team recently started playing in a basketball league at the YMCA. I call them the Bumblebees because they have on yellow shirts- somehow all of the other teams got manly colors like grey, red, you get the point. Not this team, though, their shirts look like "Easter" to me??? The game started out tied, they were neck and neck- the score was 0 to 0! That didn't last long though. It was obvious that the other team had played together before- and that our team hadn't. I guess I have a bad taste in my mouth about the night because in the first 2 minutes Ava decided that it would be hilarious to run to center court and make me chase her with Tal in tow- while the game was still going on. Get this, the ref didn't even stop the game, everyone just came "buzzing" by us! Somewhere inside me I mustered up the strength to tote a 20 lb baby and a 27 lb screaming toddler off of the court in no time flat for fear of being trampled. (The crowd was less than pleased with my disciplining Ava, I was less than pleased with them. What was I supposed to do, give her candy for almost hurting herself? Trust me, parenting is so much easier before you have kids!!) Let me tell you, 40 minutes passes pretty slow when you are watching the clock and chasing a 2 year old- next time, she's wearing the harness!
